everyone. This October marks the 10th anniversary of the release of Hit Point. Neko Atsume, the adorable kitten collecting sim was a huge success and essentially spawned a subgenre of cozy pet collecting life sim games. Sure, the English version arrived about a year later, but still, where does time go? Ten years is a long time to keep a mobile game running anyway. Especially when it’s a game that the developers didn’t expect to become so popular, nor did they expect to need to maintain it for years to come. For this reason, and to commemorate his 10th anniversary of the game, Hit-Point has announced that a sequel is in the works and scheduled to be released this summer. The title of the sequel is… Neko Atsume 2! Who could have seen it coming?
It’s unclear if the summer release window will include regions outside of Japan, but given the series’ popularity, I’d imagine they’d like to release it worldwide, but that’s just my guess. It doesn’t work. The newly opened “Neko Atsume” portal site also has information about existing games. They have stated that they intend to continue updating the original game as much as possible, but will focus on the sequel as this new game appears to be designed from the ground up with frequent content updates and long-term support. Masu. heart. I’m looking forward to seeing how it enhances my virtual kitten collecting life. Neko Atsume 2 Scheduled for release later this year. Please look forward to this too.
