Cal Fire remains on the scene of a commercial fire that destroyed four businesses at Country Club Drive and Monterey Avenue in Palm Desert. The four businesses affected include D’ Coffee Bouteaque, Papa Dan’s Pizza & Pasta, Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Center and Reverse Mortgage Works.
The fire broke out just after 3 a.m. Sunday inside a 30,000-square-foot building in a strip mall, according to Cal Fire. Six nearby residents were temporarily evacuated as four unnamed businesses were destroyed and six residents were temporarily evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.
This video, taken by viewer Paul Ambeth, shows the fire still active in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The fire was extinguished just after 5 a.m. One RSO deputy was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Firefighters remain at the scene and inspection and rescue operations continue. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
