The SE series reuses the design of older iPhones. The original took its shape from the iPhone 5s, and then the SE (2020) and (2022) were sized up to iPhone 6-8 style bodies. The display will be OLED for the first time in the SE family, and the panel will be supplied by BOE. It should be identical to the 14 series display, with a wide notch with FaceID (also a first). SE 4 also uses iPhone 14 batteries.
The iPhone SE 4 will be more modern than the 2022 model, as evidenced by the metal dummy used to manufacture the case. The SE (2022) was the last phone to use TouchID, and even the iPad is starting to switch to FaceID. There are a lot of bezels to hide the IR illuminator and camera, but a wide notch is needed on a phone.
Still, compared to the 2017-style bezel on the iPhone SE (2022), the next model will be a big step forward. Despite borrowing quite a bit from the iPhone 14, the new iPhone SE certainly doesn’t have a camera. There are no details yet, but it is clear that there is only one module. The last time it was seen was on his iPhone XR in 2018.

Ming-Chi Kuo deserves some credit – back in 2022, he predicted that the iPhone SE 4 would be delayed until 2024. Or maybe it should be “at least until 2024”, but recent reports from South Korea suggest a new model could arrive in 2025 instead. That said, there may not be a need to wait until next year if the case maker is already preparing to start production.
