Android tablets and Chromebooks introduced the ultra-powerful video editor LumaFusion last year. And this week, a new update to the app is rolling out with “scopes” and other new features.
LumaFusion’s appeal is that it’s a professional-level video editor, but it’s also available on tablets. This app supports advanced video editing that is usually only available on desktop computers. The app was first released on iOS for iPad, but moved to Android in 2023. However, the Android port lacked some key features from the iOS version.
This week, LumaFusion introduces one of the most important missing features: Scopes.
“Scopes” are used for “color workflow” when processing SDR and HDR content in LumaFusion. “Scope” operates in real-time and allows editors to configure histograms, waveforms, and vectorscopes, all of which can be configured in customizable panels as well. You can also see the results immediately while editing.
Additionally, LumaFusion for Android also adds improved “tilt presets” that are said to make it easier to access edits and insert titles. Audio import and export have also been improved, blending modes have been improved when using opacity and similar features, and tweaks have also been made to the workflow around narration, editing from external drives, and library previews.
This update is currently available for free to users who have already purchased LumaFusion. LumaFusion is currently available on Android tablets and Chromebooks from the Google Play Store for $29.99.
