Lovina remembers loved ones who have passed away | Lifestyle and Entertainment

The ground is covered with snow again, but it will disappear tomorrow. The ground was still covered Sunday morning, but it was gone by the afternoon. Other than last week’s cold snap, it has been a fairly mild winter so far.

Daughter Loretta doesn’t care if there’s no snow on the ground and drives her mobility scooter just before 4 a.m. on weekday mornings. After a few months of not having much work, Dustin returned to work at the RV factory. He walks every morning with Loretta, 18-month-old Denzel, and 5-1/2-month-old Byron. He holds Byron and Denzel sits on Loretta. When Denzel looks at me in the morning when it’s cold outside, he sometimes says, “Buru-buru.” Loretta sleeps in a recliner with Byron, and Denzel sleeps in his crib. They usually sleep from 7:30 to 8 a.m. Denzel is quite old, so when she sees her grandpa eating breakfast in the kitchen, she sometimes doesn’t want to go back to sleep. He sometimes sits on Joe and gets a little something to eat, and I put him back in bed after Joe leaves. Last week Joe was yodeling and little Denzel was sitting next to him trying to yodel too. We had a good laugh about it.

On Saturday evening, my daughter Lovina’s special friend Daniel invited us all to dinner at his rented house. I hadn’t seen the house since Verena’s belongings were removed and Daniel moved out. That house holds many memories for our family and was the first home of our daughters Susan and Moses.

Daniel’s menu included grilled chicken, vegetable soup, potato salad, chips, Swiss roll bars, jelly, and homemade chocolate ice cream. Of course, we all helped by bringing plates of something. After dinner we played games.

Sunday was a quiet day, just Joe and I, our daughter Verena, and her special friend Danielle Ray at home. I made brunch with fried eggs, fries, bacon, cheese, chili peppers, toast, butter, and strawberry jam. It was nice and relaxing to spend a quiet day at home.

Tomorrow, my daughters and I will be helping my daughter Susan clean up in preparation for the church service we are hosting in March. Irvin’s mother also plans to help.

January 31st marks three years since Sister Susan passed away. Sister Verena has been staying with Sister Emma and her sons for the last month. Both of them had lost someone close to them and were spending their days alone. It’s nice to be able to comfort each other.

Also six years ago, on January 31st, my brother Amos passed away. I still have fond memories of both of them.

Last night my daughters Verena and Lovina stayed with my daughter Elizabeth and Tim’s four children while they went out on the town. So it was left to Joe and the three boys to prepare dinner. I made grilled cheese, eggs, and ham. It was a simple but delicious dinner.

On Thursday, I plan to go to the metal/truss store where Joe works. We are holding a Customer Appreciation Day and will provide food to all attendees. If they need my help, I will accompany them and help them serve. god bless!
