BELLINGHAM, Wash. (MyBellinghamNow.com) – This week on Lifestyle Lookout, we have a lot to talk about.
The Skagit Wood Expo will be held this weekend at the Skagit County Fairgrounds. This he will be held all weekend from Friday 5th April. If you want to get an early start, get tickets to that event. There will be live music, a beer garden serving beer from Stone’s Throw Brewery, a food truck serving wood-fired pizza, and free ax throwing by Ax Academy. We’re not talking about riff-shredding axes here, we’re talking about types of wood-cutting axes. Friday Pre-Party is Friday from 5pm to 9:30pm.
The real fun begins on Saturday with a unique gathering for live milling, woodworking and woodcarving demonstrations, a unique artisan market featuring over 50 local vendors, and a live wood auction. The Skagit Wood Expo will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., plus a circus show for the whole family featuring a chainsaw juggler. Plus, there will be even more hot wood action on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., including the Sunday Morning Line Dance and Live Wood Auction. If you or someone you know loves woodworking, head to the Skagit Fairgrounds this weekend. Tickets for Friday’s pre-party must be purchased in advance, while Expo tickets are available at the door on Saturday and Sunday for just $10.
If you’re looking for a beer at the Expo, you can also check out Stone’s Throw Brewery on Saturday. Fairhaven Brewery’s 8th Anniversary Block Party. This is a free, family-friendly, pet-friendly event featuring live music, food trucks, and the best patio in all of Whatcom County. And of course, many Of delicious beer. On Sundays, relax and listen to soothing acoustic music at Wild Buffalo in Bellingham. Then Ryan Montbro, a singer-songwriter from Peabody, Massachusetts, comes to town and serenades us with his acoustic music. After making a name for himself with his performances around Boston, this musician traveled the world and eventually laid down lasting roots in Burlington, Vermont. He will bless us with his exciting presence in town on Sunday at Wild Buffalo. The show starts at 8pm and tickets are just $20 online.
