The couple announced on Instagram on Monday that their 3-year-old son had died in a “tragic accident.”
Laura Merritt Walker and her family are mourning a terrible loss.
The lifestyle blogger, one half of Merit & Style, and her husband David Walker announced the death of their youngest son Callahan, 3, on Instagram on Monday.
The couple posted a photo of themselves and Callahan at a family photo shoot, followed by a photo of them holding hands in a hospital bed and a video of Callahan reading a book at bedtime. In the caption, the couple said they were “heartbroken” over the loss of their toddler.
The caption of the joint post begins: “We are completely heartbroken to share that we lost our precious Callahan in a tragic accident last week.”
“He was truly a blessing and brought so much joy to our entire family. Calvea was dearly loved by his older brothers and loved them beyond measure. As parents, we are completely devastated by the loss of our baby boy. Iām devastated.ā
“We are comforted knowing he is in the arms of Jesus. We would be honored if you would pray for peace and strength for our family during this impossible time. ā they concluded.

A sergeant with the Frisco, Texas, Police Department can confirm to PEOPLE that FPD officers responded to a drowning call involving a child last week. Further details of the incident that led to Callahan’s death remain unclear.
“I’m praying for you and your family. This is really heartbreaking because I know this heartache, but I’m so sorry š,” said a friend who has sadly lost a child. one influencer, Brittani Boren Leach, commented.
Bachelor Nation’s Raven Gates also commented, writing, “I’m so sorry and speechless. I pray the Lord gives you peace and comfort beyond comprehension.”

In the days since sharing the tragic news, David posted a recent photo of Callahan on his Instagram story, but there was no further comment. The couple are also parents to sons Chamberlain, 7 and a half, and Beckham, 10.
Laura runs the lifestyle blog with her sister Christie Merritt Taylor, who has daughters Mia, 12 months, and three-and-a-half-year-old with husband Mark Taylor. Her family has not commented on her nephew’s death at this time.
