Lenovo is reportedly developing an artificial intelligence (AI) operating system that could potentially rival Windows 11. At CES 2024, Lenovo Group Executive Vice President and President of China Liu Jun hinted at plans to release an AI OS this year. A strategy to seriously promote artificial intelligence business.
The move follows the company’s full-stack intelligence strategy announced last year, positioning Lenovo as the industry’s first AI solutions and services provider to complete a full-stack intelligence layout.
Without going into too many details, Liu Jun says that Lenovo’s new AI OS will be built around multi-terminal products focused on AI PCs and personal agents.
AI PC
The company plans to launch a series of AI PCs in the first half of this year. These devices feature multimodal natural language interaction capabilities that are said to significantly improve intent understanding and better understand user needs.
The company is also developing smart devices that incorporate AI, and says they are designed to make AI available to everyone, while “emphasizing privacy and security.”
Lenovo’s AI OS is reportedly intended to help build an AI PC ecosystem and help AI hardware enter a new phase of development, but we don’t know exactly yet .
The company’s ambitious plans are part of a broader trend of tech companies in China and other countries developing or considering their own operating systems. If successful, Lenovo’s AI OS could rival Microsoft Windows in the same way that Huawei’s HarmonyOS has its sights set on Google’s Android.
