The Kremlin said Thursday that Joe Biden’s comments about President Vladimir Putin disparaged the United States and those who use such vocabulary and were an inappropriate attempt to look like a “Hollywood cowboy.”

Biden on Wednesday called President Putin a “crazy SOB” during a fundraiser in San Francisco and warned that while the threat of nuclear conflict is always present, the threat to human existence remains climate.

“This is the last existential threat. It’s the climate. We have crazy SOBs like President Putin and others who have to worry about nuclear conflict all the time, but the existential threat to humanity is The climate,” Biden told a small group of donors.

Following the US President’s remarks today, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “The use of such words by the President of the United States against the head of another country is unlikely to violate the rights of our President Putin.” Stated.

“But it degrades the people who use such vocabulary,” he says.

Peskov said the remark was “probably some kind of attempt to look like a Hollywood cowboy.” But to be honest, I don’t think that’s possible. ”

“Has Mr. Putin ever used even one rude word when speaking to you? Nothing like this has ever happened. Therefore, such vocabulary demeans America itself. “I think it is,” the spokesperson added.

deeply conflicted

Mr. Biden has previously called others “sons of ab****.” In January 2022, he was caught on a hot mic using the same word against a woman. fox news White House reporter.

Biden has a penchant for going off-script during campaign fundraising, and in recent months has grilled Beijing, the Republican Party and U.S. ally Israel for its bombing of the Gaza Strip.

Mr. Biden’s verbal attacks on Mr. Putin have also sharply intensified in the White House and on the campaign trail. Last week, the US president blamed Putin and “his thugs” for the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny.

After Russian prison officials announced Navalny’s death, Biden said at the White House: “We don’t know exactly what happened, but we know that Navalny’s death was the result of the actions of President Putin and his thugs.” There is no doubt that it is.”

The Kremlin has denied any involvement in Navalny’s death and said it does not accept Western claims that Putin was responsible.

Mr. Biden and Mr. Putin remain deeply at odds over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine two years ago, with Russia facing sanctions from the United States and other Western countries. Biden’s response further chilled already strained U.S.-Russian relations.

Biden said Tuesday that the United States would announce major sanctions against Russia over Navalny’s death and the war in Ukraine.

Former President Donald Trump, who is expected to be Biden’s Republican opponent in November, has expressed admiration for Putin during and after his tenure in the White House from 2017 to 2021. But he recently compared himself to Navalny, suggesting that both faced politically motivated prosecutions.

Mr. Biden on Wednesday responded to President Trump’s comparison of himself to Mr. Navalny, saying, “I don’t know where the hell this came from.”
