The All-Star team will train with the U.S. team leading the Olympics and helping prepare the team for international competition. Murray, a Cedar Rapids native who played at Prairie in high school, starred at Iowa from 2020-2022, leading the team with an average of 23.5 points as a sophomore. That season, the Hokies won the Big Ten Tournament and earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Murray left Iowa after his sophomore season and was selected fourth overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2022 NBA Draft. In his two years with Sacramento, Murray averaged 13.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game while shooting 38% from the 3-point line. The Select Team is a mix of veterans and young players, and in addition to Murray, it features several recent high draft picks, including Charlotte’s Brandon Miller and Houston’s Jabari Smith Jr.
