On February 14th, we will launch a new series of challenging conversations about science culture called “Taboo and Tricky Topics.” Hear and have your say from representatives of the chemistry community.
The series follows last year’s publication of the Vision for a Great Scientific Culture, in which we identified the behaviors, values, expectations, attitudes, and norms of a positive scientific community.
A positive scientific culture benefits everyone, but achieving this requires the collective efforts of the entire community and is not without its challenges.
We developed this series of conversations to address various tensions between different aspects of scientific culture. It begins with the tension between advancing a research career and devoting time to improving aspects of scientific culture.
This is an opportunity to hear from people at different career stages and from different backgrounds and environments. It’s also an opportunity to have your opinion heard on these issues through our question and comment board, which you can submit anonymously.
To join the conversation, visit our YouTube channel or LinkedIn page on February 14th at 4pm UK time. You can also submit any questions or comments here at any time.
