Is your iPhone stuck in emergency SOS mode? Here’s how to fix it

[ad_1]

It’s happened to all of us. It wanders around, trying to get a cell signal in secluded areas or less-traveled areas of the city, but with no success. I can’t get any service and all I see is SOS in the corner of my iPhone. This means you can still receive services, but only for emergency calls.

This is not an emergency. I just want to be able to use my phone normally. Eventually they return to civilization and return to the place where they should be served, but for some reason they are not. That pesky SOS is still in the corner of your screen, and no matter how high you hold your iPhone in the sky, you can’t access the internet.

what happened?

In this story, we’ll take a look at what Emergency SOS via satellite is and what you can do if your iPhone goes into Emergency SOS mode. Here’s what you need to know:

While you’re here, learn how to contact 911 using Emergency SOS via satellite and how to prevent your iPhone from automatically calling 911.

What exactly is Satellite Emergency SOS?

Patrick Holland has a very good explanation of the emergency SOS feature via satellite. You can check it here. In other words, Emergency SOS via satellite is a feature on iPhone 14 and later that lets you contact emergency services and share your location, even when you don’t have cellular network service.

When you don’t have cell service or Wi-Fi, SOS appears in the corner of your iPhone to indicate that emergency assistance is available using Emergency SOS via satellite.

Note: All iPhones also have Emergency SOS. This feature calls your local emergency number and shares your location with emergency services, but you must receive service. This is different from emergency SOS via satellite.

So what’s the problem?

If your iPhone loses service and goes into emergency SOS mode, your device may have trouble finding your network, even if you return to an area with service. You may notice that others in your area are receiving service but you are not, or vice versa. Fortunately, there are various ways to approach this problem.

What to do if you can’t get out of Emergency SOS mode

According to Apple, if you see “SOS” or “SOS only” in the status bar, the following steps will help your device find your cellular network.

  • Check if you are in an area with mobile phone network coverage. Even when you’re not using a service, you can check in with those around you who are providing the service.
  • Turn off and turn on mobile data.go to setting > mobile phone and change direction cellular data Turn it off and then back on.
  • Restart your iPhone. On iPhone X and newer, press and hold the Volume button and either the Side button and drag the slider until the Power Off slider appears. Wait 30 seconds, then press and hold the side button to turn your iPhone back on. If you have an older iPhone model, here’s how to restart it.
  • Check for carrier settings updates. Your mobile carrier may send you carrier configuration updates to improve the connectivity and performance of your mobile network. As long as you have an internet connection, visit the following site: setting > general > about Check to see if there are any updates available.
  • Turn off and turn on your mobile phone line.go to setting > mobile phone > your phone number Turn your cell phone line off and then on. If you are not using an eSIM, remove his SIM card from your phone and reinstall it.
  • Please update your iPhone. If there is a bug in the software, you may experience problems with your cell phone service. To check for software updates, please visit: setting > general > Software updates. You need the internet for this to work, so Wi-Fi is your only option if you can’t connect to your phone.
  • Reset network settings. Warning: This will reset all your Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cell phone settings, and VPN settings, so only do this if you’ve tried all of the above first. If that’s okay, please go to setting > general > Transfer or reset your iPhone > reset > Reset the network setting.

Finally, if you’re still having network connectivity issues, please contact Apple in case there’s a carrier or account issue that could affect your service, such as a power outage in your area or an unpaid account. We recommend that you contact your telephone carrier.

If you’re traveling abroad and don’t hear the SOS when you arrive, make sure you have data roaming enabled.can go to setting > mobile phone > your phone number and turn on the switch data roaming.
