A family lost in the frigid forests of Oregon used the power of their iPhone to survive, The Chronicle reported.
The 6-year-old’s family was stranded in the Mount Hood National Forest due to the high altitude and inclement weather.
“It appears they got lost in the heavy snow and were unable to return, as well as fatigue and exposure to weather conditions,” Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Brian McCall said. Chronicle.

Rescuers found the family cold, wet and dehydrated but otherwise unharmed, and retrieving them from the remote location also proved difficult. Another ground crew using a snowcat vehicle left at 10 a.m. and reached the family several hours later.
The family and rescuers were transported to safety 24 hours after the first SOS call.
