Apple plans to enlarge its iPhone 16 Pro models this year, which will likely be the biggest design change to the lineup after the new capture button. There are many different aspects to the design that Apple is working on, and leaked dimensions show that the devices will not only have slimmer bezels, but will also grow in height and width. The smaller Pro will see a similar increase in display, from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the larger Pro Max will see a similar increase, from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches.
Dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have been leaked, highlighting the fact that they’re larger devices overall compared to the iPhone 15 Pro.
Leaked dimensions shared by IceUniverse and Instant Digital show that all sides are larger except for one, which we think is a good thing: As mentioned above, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be larger on all four corners, but the bezel size will be reduced, meaning the flagship models will have smaller bezels than any smartphone, including the Galaxy S24 Ultra and Google’s Pixel 8 series.
This is not the first time the company has adopted slimmer bezels, as the previous generation iPhone 15 Pro models also saw a significant reduction in the display borders. Apple aims to achieve this through the implementation of Border Reduction Structure (BRS), which frees up space for circuit layout in a more efficient manner compared to the current model.
As you can see, looking at the dimensions, we can see that the device will be taller and wider with smaller bezels. Thanks to the bezels and the width of the device, we can assume that the device won’t be too large compared to the current model.

Ice Universe previously noted that Apple’s efforts to shrink the bezels on the iPhone 16 Pro model will make the flagship device the narrowest device on the market. It’s amazing how the iPhone has evolved from the thickest to the thinnest frames over the years. If you’re upgrading your device from an iPhone 13 or older model, it’s worth noting that the bezels and screen size will be significantly reduced. The 15 Pro also has slimmer bezels, so the difference will be less noticeable.
For those who aren’t keen to upgrade for the larger case and screen, the iPhone 16 Pro models will also feature improved camera sensors and a new capture button to support the device’s video capture capabilities, as well as on-device processing for iOS 18’s AI features, which are due to be unveiled at next week’s WWDC event.
