A new internal report by a leaker has revealed two shades that could be coming to the iPhone 16 Pro when it launches later this year.
Apple is expected to announce its next best iPhones, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, during a typical September period in 2024. For 2023, Apple has introduced an all-new finish to its Pro models. Titanium. This titanium is “aerospace grade” and not only is it super strong and lightweight, but it has also paved the way for several new finishes. Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro comes in black, white, blue, and natural titanium, each with a brushed metal finish.
For 2024, Apple is reportedly planning to evolve Titanium with several new colors, but if you were hoping for some exciting new colors to make this year’s iPhones pop, unfortunately you’re in for some bad news. It may have become.
iPhone 16 Pro color — almost the same?
According to information obtained by X leaker MajinbuAs a tipster with a mixed track record, Apple is reportedly planning iPhone 16 Pro shades called “Desert Yellow” and “Cement Grey.” If this information is accurate (and Bu admits it may not be), then the names are just as inspirational as these colors actually sound. Suggests. Desert Yellow is reportedly “similar to the gold on the iPhone 14 Pro, but deeper and heavier,” while Cement Gray is “a similar shade of space gray used on the iPhone 6.” Bu said it’s possible “only one of these colors will be approved,” but clarified that Apple isn’t preparing red or green. Finally, he said that blue may remain in the lineup, but could be replaced by another shade.
Without reading too much into the unofficial information, it’s hard not to be a little disappointed at the prospect of Apple rolling out the same dull, muted color palette for the iPhone 16 Pro as its recent releases thus far. As far as I can remember, the last exciting “Pro” iPhone color was Pacific Blue for the iPhone 12 Pro, complemented by a delicious Alpine Green released mid-cycle. I know Apple often reserves bright colors for the regular iPhone lineup, but to be honest, I’m pretty bored with the Pro palette. I’ve tested both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro this year, and the brushed matte finish on the iPhone 15 is definitely more fun than the iPhone 15 Pro, which is also made from fingerprint-resistant titanium. Still, the colors in the iPhone 15 lineup (at least the blue and green I used) are so subdued that they might as well be white.
It’s understandable that Apple wants to keep its “Pro” iPhone lineup looking “Pro”, but we’ve seen so many great iPhone colors over the years that we can’t help but think that Apple is missing a trick. I can’t stay. Certainly, PRODUCT(RED) titanium, rich bronze color, or purple would be a big breath of fresh air. Sadly, it looks like there may be another round of iPhone 16 Shades of Gray, but I’m not excited.
