Rohit Sharma’s Indian team opened the World Cup with an eight-wicket win over Ireland at the Nassau County Stadium in New York. They went on to beat Pakistan and the USA at the same stadium to qualify for the next round. Their final group match against Canada in Florida was called off without a toss due to a wet outfield.
