Understanding how to use the Gemini app on your Android device will help you get the most out of it. Get the information you need and see if there is room for improvement on Google’s part. The good news is that you won’t have any trouble using Gemini, as you can essentially pick up where you left off with Google Assistant.

But is Google Assistant living in the last days? Only time will tell whether Google Assistant will disappear from the face of the earth completely. But for now, let’s take a look at how to use the Gemini app and what it has to offer.

How to use the Google Gemini app

To start using the Google Gemini app, you need to download it from Google Play. If you search and can’t find it, it’s not available in your area yet, but it’s coming soon. If you can’t install the app, you can always visit Gemini’s website to test it.

However, if you can install the app, you’ll find that Gemini still requires Google Assistant to perform certain tasks.

Note: To use Google Gemini on Android, you need a phone with at least 4GB of RAM and running Android 12 or later. You’ll also need to keep your Google apps up to date. If you don’t update, Gemini will remind you to do so. Gemini apps may not be used with a Google Workspace for Education account for minors or a Google Account managed by Family Link.

When you opt in to Gemini, it acts as your Google Assistant. The next time you say “Ok Google” or launch it using your preferred method, Gemini will greet you.

To start using Gemini:

1. Open of Google Gemini App.

2. Tap let’s start.

3. After reading how Google Gemini can help you Tap “See more”.

4. On the next page, Agree.

5. Tap where it says Type, talk, and share photos.

What can you do with Gemini?

You can ask questions like what time it is in a particular country or what the weather will be like this week. Basically, you can do most of the things you already do with Google Assistant. However, Gemini allows you to enable/disable and manage Assistant features.

1. Tap . Profile thumbnail It’s in the top corner.

2. Tap setting.

3. Tap Gemini’s Google Assistant feature.

4. If the feature is not already turned on, turn it on. You can also manage individual functions in this menu.

Still, Gemini is very useful on its own, and there’s a lot you can do, like search what’s on your screen or use photos from your gallery to invoke a search. To search by image, Tap the camera icon Upload images from your mobile phone to get more information. I used a photo of a Yorkie and a Gemini gave me this information.

You’ll see play and pause buttons in the top right corner of the text, and Gemini will read it for you. A great option when your eyes are too tired. Google Gemini cannot analyze every photo to pinpoint its location. You will be asked to enter details to identify the location where the photo was taken.

You can also ask which places to visit in a particular city. However, you will notice that in some cases the image is displayed and in other cases it is not.

Google Gemini can create 7-day cleaning plans, write codes, set timers, and make calls and cover letters. If you don’t feel like reading large amounts of text, copy and paste the text into Gemini to get a short summary. At the top of the home page, you’ll also see suggestions that you can use. There is also an option to add a photo that takes a photo of the object and asks what it is.

It not only translates the text, but also tells you the source of the text. For example, if you take a photo of a book in another language, it will be translated into your preferred language and show you where the text was taken from.

It can also be reasoned. For example, if you take a picture of a glass bottle and ask if it will break, you will find that how the bottle breaks depends on many factors, such as the type of glass, the height from which it was dropped, and the type of glass. dropped surface.

Beyond the assistant, Gemini will appear

Gemini runs on Android 12-powered models, so you don’t need to use a best-of-breed Android smartphone. Be careful when using Gemini, as it can generate incorrect information. Gemini Advanced gives you access to more features to help you with more complex tasks. Gemini Advanced is free for the first two months and then costs $19.99 per month.

Also note that when Gemini is activated, the Assistant app icon switches to the Gemini icon, making it look like there are two versions of the same app.

There are also some things that Gemini can’t do that Assistant can’t, like routines, interacting with media apps, setting reminders, and interpreter mode. However, Google has hinted that more Assistant features will be coming to Gemini in the future.
