A few days ago, Google made a major upgrade to its generative AI products, rebranding almost all of them to Gemini. Virtually all of Google’s AI products and services, from AI search to the AI features in Google’s productivity apps, rely on the Gemini model. You can choose between the free Gemini option and the Gemini Advanced subscription.
Google Gemini is also available on mobile, commonly Android. You can set up Gemini to enhance your Google Assistant experience and summon it with voice commands or gestures. Google’s best alternative to ChatGPT is also available on iOS. We’ve already shown you how easy it is to get Google Gemini on your iPhone.
But it turns out there’s an even easier way to get Gemini on your iPhone. You don’t even need to install another app to get Gemini up and running.
As explained, to use Gemini on your iPhone, you need to install the Google app and sign in with your Google account. Once that’s done, open the app and start a conversation with the chatbot. Supports text, audio and images.

He also said it might be even easier for iPhone 15 Pro users. Simply create an action shortcut for your Google app to quickly access Gemini.
It turns out you don’t have to be an iPhone 15 owner to get these speedy generative AI experiences. There is an iPhone shortcut for Google Gemini that allows you to use the chatbot without having to install the Google app first.

iPhone shortcut developer procreations I came up with a shortcut called Gemini Chat.
This shortcut is free to use and supports Gemini Pro. Installation is incredibly easy and the best part is that you don’t need to log into your Google account.
However, the queries go through something called pro-ai.glitch.me. This server belongs to the same Shortcuts developer and may power another Shortcuts called Pro AI.

The interface isn’t great, but responses are generated very quickly. When asked about the meaning of life, I answered: The answer took over my iPhone screen while I edited the screenshot.

One advantage of this shortcut is that it can probably be used in regions where Google Gemini has not yet been released. The problem with this mechanism is that you can’t save chats. You also cannot manipulate answers to follow up.
Still, shortcuts can help you get AI responses to your questions quickly. Since it uses Google Gemini, it’s definitely better than what Siri can offer.
You can install and test the shortcut from this link. If you’re a fan of the Shortcuts app, you can also try tweaking it to improve your experience. Of course, the alternative is the official Google app.
