If you’ve broken up with your partner, you may wish your phone didn’t keep reminding you of their presence. Most photo galleries on modern phones automatically create all kinds of interesting collages and slideshows. This is great if the memory in question is a happy one, but can be triggered after a painful breakup. We previously wrote about how to delete your ex-lover’s photos from your iPhone, and this guide will help those using Android smartphones to do the same.

Note that different Android smartphone manufacturers use their own versions of the Photo Gallery app. The steps for hiding or deleting your ex’s photos from these apps may vary, so here’s his Google, an app included on most Android smartphones sold in the US. Focus on photo. This is the recommended photo backup service for most people using Android. Unfortunately, it’s not possible to automatically delete all photos of a particular person, but there are some clever workarounds to quickly hide the original photos.

Hide specific people from Google Photos

To hide all of someone’s photos from your camera reel, open Google Photos and tap the profile icon in the top-right corner.go to Photo settings > Preferences > Memories > Hide people and pets. This will display a grid of all the different people and pets identified in the photo. Once you select all the people (or pets) you want to hide, their images won’t appear in Memories or other highlights you create in Google Photos.

Hide photos taken on specific days from Google Photos

Google Photos also lets you create memories based on specific dates in the calendar year. This could suggest viewing a slideshow of anniversaries, birthday parties, or other important moments in your life with your ex-partner. You can also stop Google Photos from creating these memories for you.go to Profile icon > Photo settings > Preferences > Memories > Hide date. Add the dates you want to exclude, and Google Photos will exclude photos from those days when you made memories.

Archive all photos of a specific person

If you don’t want to see any photos of your ex, but don’t want to permanently delete them, use the archive feature in Google Photos. This will move those photos to a separate folder and prevent them from being added to any new memories the service creates. To do this, open Google Photos and long press on one of your original photos. Keep scrolling until you find all the photos and select all the ones you don’t want to see. When you’re done, swipe the bottom toolbar to the right and click archive.

Permanently delete photos of your ex-lover

Although this is a core option, Google Photos requires much more manual effort than iPhone Photos. Manually select all original photos, erase To permanently delete these photos, select an option from the bottom toolbar. They are still located in the Bin folder and can be accessed by going to: library Select in Google Photos tab storage place. Deleted photos will be permanently deleted after 60 days.
