The cut line is nearing for the 2024 Masters Tournament, which resumed Friday at Augusta National Golf Club as weather conditions improved after the first round was suspended due to darkness Thursday night.
Golfers who started play in the morning for Thursday’s opening round will tee off late Friday afternoon, but players with later tee times to start the tournament will get an early start in the second round.
AccuWeather predicts Friday will be mostly sunny and dry with virtually no chance of rain and a high of about 73 degrees. Winds will be out of the west at 15 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph in the morning. According to AccuWeather, the sunny and windy conditions are expected to continue into the evening.
By the end of Friday, the field of 89 golfers will have been cut nearly in half as the cut approaches. Here’s what you need to know about the Masters cut rules and this year’s cut line.

Master’s cut rules
To qualify after the first 36 holes of the Masters, players must be in the top 50 in the standings, including ties.
Previously, players who came within 10 strokes of the lead were also eligible to participate, but that rule has been abolished for the 2020 Masters.
Masters 2024 cut line
According to Golfweek, the cut is expected to be 1 over after the first day of play, and that number could change throughout Friday’s match.
