Highest paying retail jobs in the US

• Retail wages are rising as employers struggle to find and retain workers.
• Currently, entry-level employees can find jobs on the sales floor that pay upwards of $17 an hour.
• Business Insider asked Glassdoor to compile the 15 highest-paying entry-level retail jobs in the United States.

Retail wages are rising.

The federal minimum wage remains $7.25 an hour (since 2009), but fewer and fewer employers can get by without paying at least twice that.

To meet the U.S. poverty line ($31,200 for a family of four), a worker would need to earn $17.14 an hour for 52 weeks, working 35 hours a week. However, finding a full-time schedule from one retailer can be difficult.

To find out which companies pay the best, Business Insider asked Glassdoor’s recruiting experts to share data from the past year for entry-level positions on the sales floor.

Glassdoor averages use hourly wage information for sales associates and related occupations, such as cashiers and retail associates, submitted by users of the platform between January 1, 2023 and March 31, 2024. It is calculated as follows.

Companies to be included in the analysis had to have at least 1,000 employees, and all entries on this list had at least 30 employee-submitted salaries.
