The University of California, Riverside School of Business moved up 20 spots in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024 graduate school rankings released this week. UCR’s business school benefited from a methodology change this year that focused on post-graduation earnings and how quickly graduates find employment.

The School of Business’ Master of Business Administration program was ranked 90th on the Business Schools list released Tuesday, April 9th. Of the 506 accredited institutions surveyed, only 124 U.S. graduate-level business programs provided sufficient information on post-graduation earnings and operations. Job listings worthy of being featured on US news lists.

“The school’s rise in the rankings is a testament to its strategic initiatives, including expanding its facilities and strengthening its educational offerings, in line with the evolving demands of the global business environment,” said Rami Zwick, associate dean. Stated. Business School Graduate Program.

The rankings, released this week, are based in part on a reputation survey sent to more than 15,000 academics and industry experts, including corporate recruiters. The survey asks department chairs, program directors, and senior faculty to judge the academic quality of the program.

In addition to the questionnaire, the selectivity of the scoring elements is also taken into account. It is evaluated by the score of the graduate school examination. Undergraduate GPA and acceptance rate.

About half of the score is based on this year’s changes to place more emphasis on earnings (assessing post-grad salaries by occupation) and job success. The revised job placement index rewards business schools if their graduates find jobs immediately upon graduation or within three months of graduation.

Separately, the business school’s part-time MBA program ranked 73rd, moving up three spots from last year. The ranking was among 269 universities.

In fall 2024, the School of Business will celebrate its 55th anniversary and the A. Gary Anderson School of Management’s 30th anniversary with the opening of a new 63,400 square foot building.

UCR’s School of Education ranked 86th out of 237 positions in the graduate ranking for doctoral-level education programs only. Last year, the school was ranked 80th.

Education rank is based on research spending. Evaluations by faculty and graduate school deans and experts such as recruiters and superintendents. Total degrees awarded. Student to faculty ratio. Faculty Award. Selectivity is measured by acceptance rate.

U.S. News this week delayed publication of its rankings after some universities questioned its methodology for ranking medical and graduate engineering programs.

U.S. News & World Report, the standard-bearer for university rankings, releases its projected undergraduate rankings each fall. In the latest rankings released in fall 2023, UCR moved up 13 spots to No. 76 overall among U.S. private and public universities. UCR was ranked No. 2 in the nation for social mobility, which considers the degree to which a university moves its graduates to a higher standard of living.
