Other system updates in June include:

The additional feature listed by Google as “Auto-Lock” for lost or stolen devices seems to refer to “Offline Device Lock.” The company detailed the feature at I/O 2024, saying it will help users with devices on a network that can locate their devices. If the device goes offline for an extended period of time, it will automatically lock to protect the data.
Additionally, if a bad actor makes too many failed sign-in attempts, your phone will be locked down.
What’s unclear is whether Google’s mention of using USB and WiFi for data transfer refers to a discovery it made back in May. The company’s Data Recovery Tool app gave a sneak peek at this new way to speed up data transfers. Essentially, it should let users recover data from their old phones without the need for a factory reset.
The June updates to Google’s services should be downloaded and installed automatically over the weekend. In other news, Pixel phones have received the June patch, bringing a slew of fixes to stability, battery, charging, and camera issues.
