Google Maps on Android Auto adds updated 3D map sync feature

For all Android users, Google Maps releases a new update that changes the 3D building toggle during navigation in Android Auto. Google Maps has allowed 3D viewing in Android Auto for a while, but it has found a way to streamline that particular setting by syncing with your Android smartphone.

Google Maps now syncs 3D building toggles between your phone and Android Auto

This feature is now the default on various platforms including CarPlay (iOS), Android Auto (Android), and iPhone (iOS). So far, the current version of Google Maps for Android (v125), which is in beta, has a small improvement where 3D building display selections are synced across devices. If you have 3D Buildings turned on on your phone, you’ll notice it’s turned on within Android Auto as well.

Previously, to change settings, users had to go to settings and turn it on manually via the car’s display. This will sync with your phone’s Maps app.
