Google Maps, the Swiss Army knife of apps for travelers around the world, is now the latest Google app to replace its custom share sheet with the native Android share sheet. Older custom versions of the Google Maps share sheet had a space to enter the name or phone number of the person you wanted to share something with, and then use the icons at the bottom to share it with the person you’re talking to in Google Messages or Telegram. is completed. You can also add anything you want to the clipboard or see what’s in the three-dot “More” icon.

The new Google Maps share sheet includes a single row with shared links and images of the people people share with you the most. Photos of people who receive shared images on social media will be marked with a small icon indicating the social media platform associated with that person. In one example shared by 9to5Google, you can see that some of these recipients are getting these images through Google Messages, and other recipients are receiving the shared images through Slack.
The row directly below that contains icons for the apps that users share most often. In this example, we can see that users prefer Nearby Share, Google Messages, Gmail, Telegram, and Drive. The new Google Maps share sheet is not yet visible on Pixel 6 Pro running Google Maps version 11.124.0101. The phone runs Android 14 QPR3 Beta 2.1. Still, you may have a newer version.
