Google is working on something so simple and useful that it’s shocking that it hasn’t been a part of our lives for a decade. This is a way to search for the phone number that called you directly from the Recent Calls screen. . The Google Phone app is the default on Pixel smartphones, but other Android owners can download it as well. The new search button works in conjunction with other options like “Block” and “History” that appear when you tap on Recent Calls in the Phone app. In an era where spam is so common from spoofed phone numbers disguised as local calls, this feature feels about five years too late.
But I’m sure I’m not the only one who still goes through the pains of copying and pasting annoying unknown numbers into Google Search. These days I only do it if I see the same number multiple times, but that happens so often that I want to stop messing around with my clunky smartphone copy-paste song and dance.
AssembleDebug also sniffed out that Google is working on adding Gemini email summaries to the Android Gmail app. As you can see in the screenshot above, this feature exists as a button just below the email subject line. Tap to display the summary. At least, that’s the presumed idea. piunica web The button doesn’t do anything yet, but it says there’s also a new Gemini menu option in Gmail’s three-dot menu.
In the meantime, the Android Gemini app can summarize your emails (if you have a Google Workspace account). It’s clearly much better to have Gemini do this directly in Gmail, which is how it already works on the web.
