Google has released the release of Android 15 Developers Preview 1 (DP1). This is his first of two previews, giving us a glimpse of the major changes and improvements planned for the next major release of the OS. Two developer previews, next coming in March
Developer Preview 1 (February): This preview hints at an early baseline build focused on developer feedback, with new features, APIs, and behavior changes, 9to5google reports.
Developer Preview 2 (March): Incremental update with additional features.
Notably, this is the first developer preview available for Pixel 6 and above, essentially meaning that Android 15 is only available on Google Pixel smartphones powered by Google Tensor SoC.
Android 15 beta starts in AprilThe Android 15 beta will start in April, just like last year. By the way, this is his one month before Google’s annual developer conference – Google I/O – which is usually held in the first week of May. At this event, Google announced consumer-facing features and announced what they’re working on.
Platform stability with “final SDK/NDK APIs, and final internal APIs and app-side system behavior” will be provided in Beta 3. “This will give us several months to do final testing before official release.”

- Beta 2 (May): Beta quality incremental release.
- Beta 3 (June): First platform stability update with final APIs and behavior.
- Beta 4 “and other final beta releases” (July, August): Near-final build for final testing.
- Final release: Android 15 will be released around the time Google launches its Pixel smartphones.
Expanding
Beta 5 was released last year and Android 14 was released on Pixel devices in early October.
