There are a lot of details, but most Pixel and Galaxy smartphone owners should easily meet these requirements, at least in the US and Canada. There’s no word on when Google Messages will roll out Gemini, but it’s a good sign that beta testing is widely available.
Gemini for Messages uses the Gemini 1.0 Pro model, but provides shorter responses suitable for RCS chats. You can give feedback by giving a thumbs up or a thumbs down to Gemini’s reactions. Additionally, Gemini for Messages supports extensions such as Workspace, as well as a web client.
