If you’ve ever been scrolling through the internet and thought to yourself, “I wish my browser had music and cool themes,” look no further. Opera GX has you covered.
In the new update, OperaGX app, Users can go to settings and access the “MOD” section. This comes with several theme choices from the start, including his cyberpunk-inspired Cyber deck and his LoFi Chill, which has nice calming visuals.
OperaGX apps are available for both iPhone and iPad, which shares a customizable browser and also has a “Release Calendar” on its homepage that provides information about all the latest released games. You can find designs that seem more intentionally created for the iPhone in the “Best MODs for iPhone” section of the free store, but everything I tested worked fine in my environment. iPhone15 Pro Max. On a MacBook, Opera is Individual download. Browsers have a great feature of shutting down tabs to save RAM. This is designed for gamers who want to free up more power for gaming, but for MacBook users it means even more RAM for creative tasks like music and video creation. OperaGX also comes with an ad blocker and has lots of great looking themes.
Some drawbacks — iMore’s view
When I downloaded and tested the new update myself, I was pleasantly surprised, but with a few small caveats. Based on my testing, the MOD does not currently have background sounds, music, or video wallpapers on your iPhone or iPad. These are some of the features I was most looking forward to. These only work on MacBooks at the moment, but we hope they sound cool on iPhones at a later date.
More than that, I like the other features as well. The free store to download mods is full of great options, including pastiches of The Last of Us and blocky Minecraft stuff.
The release calendar is also a great feature that will fit into your daily browsing. I’m not sure how much I’ll use it long-term as mods can be distracting, but it’s a fun addition and has inspired me to test browsers I might not have used otherwise .
