Samsung’s latest Galaxy S24 series is experiencing some issues with Android Auto software for several car brands.
According to Samsung’s UK support, several users have started reporting issues with the S24 series and its Volkswagen, Skoda and Seat vehicles (via 9to5Google ). It is important to note that the problem does not extend to things like: every Vehicle models that fall under these brands. Affected users will be unable to connect their Galaxy S24 devices to their cars and will not be able to access navigation features and more.
Samsung offers some troubleshooting tips, starting with Volkswagen vehicles. The company says there are compatibility issues between several Volkswagen cars and his Android smartphone “regarding hotspot connectivity.” His OEM in South Korea attributes this issue to the replacement of his IP in the hotspot since he upgraded from Android 11 to 14.
This issue can be resolved by updating the vehicle’s firmware, which may alleviate Android Auto issues for Volkswagen drivers.
The remaining tips include double-checking your Galaxy S24’s software and making sure you have the latest Android Auto app software installed. Check the USB-C cable and port for damage or debris. And finally, reconfigure your vehicle for software updates.
Samsung added that all three automakers are working on software updates for their vehicles, causing problems for Galaxy S24 owners. There’s no word on when drivers can expect such a fix.
The company further states that if none of the troubleshooting methods help, users can contact their car’s service center.
Galaxy owners experienced this dance in December after the One UI 6 update. S23 and S22 devices also faced issues with his Android Auto. This patch effectively cut off the user’s car’s wireless connection with the aforementioned device, consistently displaying an error message. Those affected were forced to lean on a USB-C cable instead of a hands-free method.
