Lately, nothing has confirmed the existence of the Phone 2a, which is expected to be launched soon. Ahead of its release, there are some new renders of the device that reveal important design details.
The rendering was created by prominent leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) in collaboration with Smartprix. He shared a render of his Phone 2a. The displayed renderings show what the device will look like before its launch.

According to Nothing, the Phone 2a will compete against budget Android smartphones, which can be seen with a revamped back panel. The company has omitted the popular glyph interface on this cost-effective Phone 2a.
However, we see a translucent-like back panel as opposed to the actual translucent back seen on the previous Phone (1) and Phone (2). Consider taking this information with a grain of salt, as the rendered renderings on display do not clearly guarantee a transparent panel.
Minor details aside, the Phone 2a will have dual cameras. According to previous leaks, it could feature a 50MP primary sensor and another 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens.

The rendering from OnLeaks is similar to a leaked real-life image shared on Reddit via X’s Max Jambor. The rear camera is precisely aligned with the device and looks like it’s in a closed protective case.

Interestingly, another leak from Reddit (via Abhishek Yadav) shows an actual image of the Phone 2a. This can also be seen in the protective case, which matches previous leaks, with the cameras aligned horizontally towards the center of the back panel. The same previous leak pointed out that there would be a glyph interface with minimal LED straps instead of the multiple LED straps seen on the phone (2).
Both phones that were leaked before the launch show that nothing has been tested on some prototypes or models of the Phone 2a. One features a new glyph interface, while the other opts for a tried-and-tested design and missing glyph lights. As we get closer to the launch, which will likely take place at MWC 2024, we’ll see which models will see the light of day.
