In an ever-changing job market, job hopping has become common, especially among younger workers. According to a 2023 PwC survey, 26% of workers said they planned to quit their job within a year.
There are many reasons to change jobs, but sometimes life happens and your career goes in a different direction than you expected. So did Grace Kim, a climate researcher turned data scientist who lives in Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Kim said he chose to change jobs after realizing that the next step in his career would involve a major change in his life.
“I miss being a climate researcher,” Kim says. “But thankfully, I don’t feel that far from it. There’s no one way to get from A to B.”
