Many people argue that Android tablets haven’t been popular for a while. I would argue the opposite. Think about it: one of the reasons Android has maintained a global share of the mobile phone market is because of the sheer number of cheap phones available in every market. For under $200, you can get a pretty decent phone.
The same can be said about tablets: I’ve reviewed and purchased several Android devices that offered great value for money and exceeded my expectations.
It’s also one of the cheapest Android tablets I’ve tested and isn’t made by Samsung or TCL.
this is, Doozy T30 MaxI’ll be honest, I had low to average expectations when I received my review unit, but my opinion quickly changed as soon as I unboxed this 12.4″ tablet. The T30 Max isn’t just a good tablet, it’s a very good tablet. And for the price, it’s an incredible bargain.

My experience
It didn’t take long for me to be impressed with the T30 Max. The display alone makes this tablet well worth the price. The tablet is impressive and doesn’t suffer from the oversized bezels found on many other tablets at or below this price point. The T30 Max’s bezels are just over 1/4 inch all around, so they don’t get in the way of the incredibly bright display.
The only downside to the display is that it can be a bit reflective, so you may need to tilt the tablet to avoid light reflecting off the surface, but other than that, there are no real complaints.

The next thing I noticed was performance. Immediately after the initial setup I was a little worried that there would be performance issues. However, once setup was complete the T30 Max performed better (if not better) than any Android tablet I own.
One little bonus worth mentioning is that the face unlock works extremely well, unlocking the phone almost instantly — just look at the camera and press the power button to unlock the phone.

The fingerprint scanner, on the other hand, is a bit of a worrier. It took quite a while to set up (it’s on the left edge of the tablet and is somewhat obscured by the cover), but once you’ve done that, it works flawlessly. Surprisingly, it’s not as snappy as the facial recognition, but that’s fine for me since I tend to use that as the default.

The video quality on the T30 Max was equally impressive; YouTube videos were not only enjoyable to watch, but easy to hear. The speakers on the T30 Max outperform (and not quite) every other tablet I’ve used; they’re clear and loud enough without sounding overly tinny.
In terms of battery life, the 10,800mAh cell is pretty big for a tablet, and of course, everyone’s perception of durability will vary, but I got almost a week out of a full charge with light use.
With heavy usage, that figure will drop, but if you’re one of the many people who use their tablet to check email, check the news and browse the web, the T30 Max will last a few days before needing a charge.

The only thing this tablet is missing is a cover. I understand that companies need to cut costs and a basic cover is the way to go. But a tablet as nice as this could at least come with a cover that keeps the tablet upright so you don’t have to hold it in your hand.
Additionally, it would be nice to have a keyboard case option, but that’s probably asking too much. Unfortunately, it’s not easy to find keyboard cases for non-Samsung 12-inch Android tablets. In a pinch, you could buy a separate Bluetooth keyboard, but that kind of defeats the purpose of a tablet (and its mobility).

$400 (with clip-on coupon) Doogee T30 Max Tablet It’s a solid choice for an Android tablet, offering plenty of power, a more than adequate battery, and a screen that won’t disappoint, all while offering great value for money. It may not be able to beat the iPad Pro, but at less than half the price (and with the flexibility of Android in mind), it’s a no-brainer for anyone looking for a budget tablet that will more than bang for your buck.
