PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — WatULike Bakery held its grand opening on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with Providence Mayor Brett Smiley in attendance.
Mike and Rob Fitzhenry, owners of a bakery along the Providence-Pawtucket line, have been shocked by the community’s support.
“We didn’t know what was going to happen. We were just putting one foot in front of the other,” Mike said. “We have been welcomed into the community. We have been supported to like the nth degree by all the companies around us. And we have been busier than we could have ever expected and what I had no idea it was going to happen.”
The name WatULike was aspirational, meaning that the Fitzhenry family hopes that what they love to bake will be what you (the customer) want to eat. Looking at the reviews, the name seems to be spot on.
“The community has welcomed us and we’ve had great reviews. Plus, perhaps most importantly, everyone seems to love the product,” Mike said. Ta.
“And we only make things that we really want to make at home, so that’s all we bake, so it’s really nice to see people actually love what we love.” ” he continued.
In addition to baked goods, WatULike also sells peanut butter and almond butter, candy bars, coffee, tea, and baking supplies.
Bakery hours are Monday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
