Amazon Bedrock, the tech giant’s platform for building generative AI applications, has added Mistral Large, Mistral AI’s newest and most advanced large-scale language model (LLM), to its service.
The Paris-based startup released a model in February that boasts top-level inference capabilities. Mistral Raj is also proficient in code, text, and mathematics. He is fluent in five languages including English, French, German, Spanish, and Italian.
The move follows the addition of Mistral 7B and Mixtral 8x7B to Amazon Bedrock last month, placing the startup’s LLM next to powerful models such as Meta, Anthropic, and Stability AI.
Three Mistral models are currently available to customers in France as well as the North Virginia and Oregon regions of the United States.

“Our mission is to make frontier AI ubiquitous, and to accomplish this mission we want to work with the world’s leading cloud providers to distribute our top-of-the-line models,” said Mistral AI Chief Executive. CEO Arthur Mensch said in a statement.
As part of the partnership, the startup will use Amazon’s Trainium and Inferentia AI chips for future foundation models it builds and deploys on Bedrock.
Bringing European AI to the forefront
