Humza Yousaf has claimed that most of Scotland’s seats in the next general election will be a “head-to-head contest” between the SNP and the Conservatives.

The SNP leader was speaking at a party event in Perth, where members and delegates were discussing policy and the upcoming election.

Mr Yousaf called on member states to “make history” by making Scotland “Tory free”.

This comes after recent opinion polls suggested the SNP and Labor were on par with voters.

In last October’s election, Labor defeated the SNP in Rutherglen-Hamilton West by a margin of 20.4%.

The SNP’s ‘Campaign Council’ event was held at the Perth Concert Hall on Saturday. “We can make history, and there is only one way to do it,” Yousaf said.

“Most seats across Scotland are closely contested between the SNP and the Conservatives, with the SNP coming second in every Conservative-held seat.

“Let us now decide to win every Conservative seat.”

‘Labour is leaving Scotland behind’

The first minister also used the speech to attack the Conservative Party over comments made by prominent donor Frank Hester to Diane Abbott. Speaking to Rep. Diane Abbott, he said she had “been made to hate all black women” and “should be shot.”

The comments were ultimately condemned as “racist” by Downing Street, and were interrupted by a standing ovation from the crowd as Mr Yousaf and representatives expressed “solidarity” with Mr Abbott.

Turning to Labor, Mr Yousaf said Labor was “ready to put 100,000 Scottish jobs at risk to build a new nuclear power station in England” and “put Scotland on the back burner”. I made it clear that something was true.”

This is a reference to Sir Keir Starmer’s plans to increase windfall tax on fossil fuel companies from 75% to 78% of excess profits and extend it until 2029.

The SNP pledged to oppose these plans, saying they would cause “extreme anger” among people in north-east Scotland.

He called on delegates to “reject Conservative policies, Conservative ideas and Conservative values, whether they come from someone carrying a blue rosette or from someone carrying a red rosette.” It depends on whether it is brought about by
