KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – The U.S. Army Reserve in Europe, 7th Mission Support Command, will hold its annual operations and training synchronization workshop March 4-8, 2024, at the Sembach Community Center in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It was held.
U.S. Army Reserve Maj. Howard Johnson, Rapid Response Mobilization Officer (G37), and Event Officer described the event and its motivation.
“The objective is to synchronize the efforts of subordinate unit commanders and their operational personnel to develop an annual training calendar for fiscal year 2025,” Johnson said.
All command branches participated and provided insights from the field, including personnel, budget, sustainment, force operations, and training personnel.
“Our goal is to improve fundamental knowledge of unit operational planning and resources.”
While having a civilian career, traditional Reserve Soldiers participate in monthly combat meetings and complete mandatory training and tasks essential to their unit’s unique mission. Providing an overview of what training will occur and when will ensure overall readiness and also provide predictability for Soldiers as they manage civilian employment.
“This workshop allows us to plan for training requirements and associated resources 12 to 18 months from now,” Johnson said. “We want to send Soldiers to school, continue their professional military education, and make sure they are qualified to perform the mission. We also plan for annual training requirements under Army Regulation 350-1. We are planning and coordinating ranges to qualify with our assigned weapon systems, and (in support of the U.S. Army’s European and African missions across the theater) There will be annual training requirements, which will be planned and developed during this workshop.”
At the conclusion of the workshop, commanders from the 7th MSC’s 26 units will develop annual training plans that meet the needs of their units and align with the MSC’s mission to provide logistics and sustainment support to the U.S. Army in Europe and Africa. This will improve military operational capabilities. region. For more stories and information about the 7th Mission Support Command, follow us on Facebook (@7thMSC).
