Android’s Private Spaces is the next big feature for this operating system, and the internet giant is planning a more private experience by suggesting a separate Google account for this feature. This means that when a user logs into a secondary her account, it helps better differentiate between normal access and private space, as was recently discovered in the Android 15 beta.

The new Private Spaces is also expected to appear in Android 15, which is speculated to be released this year, and is a feature aimed at improving privacy and more.

9to5Google reported that a document recently discovered in Google’s Android 15 Developer Preview and Android 14 QPR3 Beta releases contained text detailing Google’s proposals for new accounts for Private Spaces. The company plans to propose a secondary account dedicated to the Private Space app, separate from the primary account in the regular Android experience.

Google said in the text for Private Spaces, “Create a Google Account,” and further said that users can sign in to their accounts to use Private Spaces.

Google also suggests “creating a dedicated account to prevent your data from appearing outside of your private space,” allowing you to store sync, app download history and recommendations, browsing history, and saved passwords. This is the account that you want to display as your primary account.

What you can expect from Private Spaces on Android

Private Spaces help separate primary access to a device from personal use, and can help maintain privacy for users, such as on company-issued phones, or who constantly borrow a device.

Android 15 is said to introduce features such as introducing Private Spaces and keeping everything inside them away from prying eyes.

Android 15, private space and more

Google’s next-generation smartphone operating system is Android 15, which follows Android 14 released last year, which was said to bring important system updates to smartphones, tablets, and more. One of the biggest changes here is improved battery health. This is a feature that further expands the information users can get from their device’s power capacity.

Additionally, security features have been expanded that allow users to track their devices even when they are turned off, especially useful in case of theft or if they are lost for several days.

Apart from this, Android 15 is also said to introduce a private space feature that will have a specific landing page apart from normal access to the device.

Private spaces or secondary UIs are already available from certain manufacturers, such as Xiaomi, and provide a new place for users to store their files and apps, making them more secure from anyone who has access to the device. In the latest discovery, Google is about to offer to create a second account that is completely separate from your primary account to further enhance your privacy.
