Disneyland Paris renames one park to Disney Adventure World

Disneyland Paris has announced that its second gate, Walt Disney Studios Park, will undergo a multi-year renovation that will breathe new life into the theme park. Walt Disney Studios Park will be renamed Disney Adventure World, with an expansion of services at the park that will nearly double the park’s existing footprint.

The €2 billion investment includes a previously announced Frozen-themed land named World of Frozen. If this name sounds familiar, it’s because a land with the same title recently opened at Hong Kong Disneyland in China. Disney Adventure World and World of Frozen will debut simultaneously.

“Today, we are changing the story of Walt Disney Studios Park, evolving it from a ‘how to’ soundstage to a celebratory theater and adventure that comes to life in an immersive world. These fully realized adventure worlds will become the focus of the park’s new identity, appearing as areas guests discover as they progress deeper into the park, inspired by some of our most beloved stories. When World of Frozen opens, it will be located on the edge of Adventure Bay, a 70,000 cubic meter body of water. According to Disney, Adventure Bay will also serve as an entertainment stage, showcasing aquatic entertainment that combines fountains, music, lighting and special effects.

Construction of new park entrance begins in April

Starting this month, the park entrance plaza will also change. The entrance building will transform from emphasizing Hollywood Boulevard filming scenes to a space reminiscent of Hollywood’s historic movie theaters. The entrance building will be renamed “World Premiere” and is scheduled to open in spring 2025.

Just outside of World Premiere is World Premiere Plaza. The new theme brings together the facades of Broadway and West End theaters. The plaza will connect to Adventure Way, where new family-friendly attractions will be built. The new ride is called Rapunzel Tangled Spin and is themed after the animated film Rapunzel. Also located along Adventure Way, theme park fans can dine at a new restaurant called The Regal View Restaurant and Lounge. Table service restaurants include character meet and greets with Disney princesses.

This is just the beginning of investing in Disney

In September 2023, Disney announced that it would invest approximately $60 billion over the next 10 years in its experiences division. The investment will be made to “expand and strengthen the capabilities of national and international parks and cruise lines.”

Disney says it has more than 1,000 acres of land available for development to expand the current footprint of its existing theme parks.
