Is it a wedding photo or a diplomatic visit? The apparent “bromance” between French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has social media fans excited.
During a three-day visit to Brazil, Macron, 46, was photographed smiling and hugging 78-year-old Lula warmly during a trip to the Amazon rainforest.

One photo of the leaders with their arms raised under a large tree has been edited to show them holding a red balloon in the shape of a heart.

“They’re going to get married on the Amazon and honeymoon in Paris,” one X user joked, while others said the photos from the trip could become their wedding album.
Mr Macron’s warm relationship with Mr Lula marks a departure from the frosty relationship between the French leader and Brazil’s former right-wing president Jair Bolsonaro, who led the country from 2019 to 2022. .

His visit will end on Thursday in Brasilia, where he will meet with Lula at the presidential palace, where the two leaders will announce plans for billions of dollars in green investments in Amazon.
France, the world’s seventh-largest economy, and Brazil, the ninth-largest economy, are seen as important players in a geopolitical scene marked by conflict between China and the United States.
