The German American Business Summit will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 for the 8th year. Sponsored by the College of Charleston Business School, German Studies Program, and Department of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs, the summit has been promoting cooperation between German industry and universities and building a pipeline of jobs and internships since 2017. According to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, there are more than 200 German companies in South Carolina that directly employ more than 42,000 people.
The 2024 Summit will be held at the College of Charleston Business School’s Beatty Center, located at 5 Liberty Street. The event will kick off with a career and internship exhibition for students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where representatives from German-American companies will be on hand to provide immediate feedback to students, including students studying business, communications, computer science, engineering, and more. Interact with human resources who will become your strength.
Registration for the conference portion, which is open to the public, begins at 1 p.m., and the event begins at 1:30 p.m. in Wells Fargo Auditorium. Attendees will hear from business leaders about pressing issues in German-American industry.
The panel discussion will focus on AI and process management. Speakers include Meglanza, US technology director for Bosch’s BSH Home Appliances Group; Jonathan Dooley, President and CEO of KION. Mr. Andreas Hoeft, CFO of IFA Group.
The event will conclude with a networking reception at 5 p.m.
The 8th Annual German American Business Summit is open to students, faculty, alumni, and community members who want to learn more about business in Germany.
