The college baseball season is well underway at this point. That said, there’s still plenty of time for this underrated team to make a run for the College World Series (CWS), which is just 84 days away.
Arkansas currently sits atop the USA Today Coaches Poll and has held that spot since Week 4 when the Razorbacks snatched the spot from Wake Forest. Other than the University of Arkansas, other teams that started this year at the top of the rankings have fallen significantly. . Wake Forest has fallen to 22nd place, making it the only team other than Florida with double-digit losses in the top 25. LSU also defeated the University of Arkansas by a landslide, and has dropped from a peak of 2nd place to 11 places since last week’s poll, and is now 18th.
But while these teams have slumped, others have experienced meteoric rises, such as Dallas Baptist, who rose from outside the top 25 earlier this year to No. 8 in the latest poll. Kentucky received only five total votes in the first poll, but now sits securely in 16th place.
There’s still a lot of season left, but now is the time for the CWS championship contenders to really start to stand out. Every team had a chance to find their groove. The only thing left to do is keep it going until the end of the season.
Here’s how each team ranks based on their odds of winning the 2024 College World Series. Odds from DraftKings.
MLB Power Rankings:Yankees and Brewers rise after revenge sweep
College baseball strength ranking: Week 7
1) Arkansas (+700)
The University of Arkansas has been at a complete disadvantage all season, but has improved in recent years, winning four straight and 19 of the past 20 games. The only loss during that period was an 8-6 loss to Auburn on March 23rd. . But the Razorbacks didn’t waste much time dwelling on that loss. The team bounced back and defeated LSU by a landslide. Peyton Stovall of the University of Arkansas had seven hits for 13 at bats, two doubles and a home run last weekend.
2) Wake Forest (+1000)
As mentioned earlier, Wake Forest has experienced quite the fall since rising to the top of the college baseball world earlier this year. Some people don’t even consider the Demon Deacons to be a top 25 team anymore. That being said, Wake Forest still has tremendous talent in players like Jack Winney and Adam Tellier. The Demon Deacons have yet to find their footing, but they could be a dangerous team if their pitching gets back on track. Wake Forest’s staff currently holds a 5.29 ERA.
T-3) Florida (+1200)
This week was a very up-and-down week for Florida State, as their in-state rivals, the Florida State Seminoles, won the season series for the first time since 2015. The Gators were able to pick up a series win against Mississippi State. A walk-off win for the pair. The Gators are still considered one of the most feared teams in college baseball, despite being one of only two teams ranked in the top 25 with double-digit losses in the coaches poll. That should be enough about how talented they are.
T-3) Tennessee (+1200)
With first baseman Blake Burke hitting his 40th career home run this week, the Voluntese continued their dominant run with a 3-1 home run last week.
T-3) LSU (+1200)
Despite being near the top of the power rankings at the beginning of the season, LSU has dropped significantly since losing three consecutive SEC series, including a recent blowout win over the University of Arkansas. Still, LSU has what it takes to compete with the best of the best and has the talent to stay strong at any time during the season.

7) Texas A&M (+1500)
8) Oregon (+1600)
T-9) Clemson (+1800)
T-9) Vanderbilt (+1800)
