MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Competitive barbecue cooking teams from around the world gathered to determine who is the best at the 46th World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest (WCBCC) held over the weekend in Memphis, Tennessee. On Saturday, May 18th, officials announced the winners of the event.
Shed Barbecue of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, took top honors for the overall championship entry in the swine division at WCBCC in May and was named Grand Champion of Memphis.
This is the third win for the team, led by Brad Orrison and his sister Brooke Lewis, at the Memphis Grand Championship in May. They have been competing in the WCBCC for 17 years.
1st place on the shoulder was Big Bob Gibson Bar-BQ.
First place in the ribs category went to Heath Riles BBQ Team.
129 culinary teams from four international countries and 22 states competed for bragging rights and $150,000 in prize money to win in Memphis at WCBCC in May.

In addition to announcing the WCBCC winners, officials also announced the dates for the 2025 festival.
Memphis in May WCBCC will be held from May 14th to 17th at Liberty Park in Memphis, Tennessee. The Great American River Run will be held on Saturday, May 24th in downtown Memphis, Tennessee.
