AYANEO Pocket S is the company’s new high-end flagship Android handheld, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 gaming platform. This is Qualcomm’s enthusiast gaming-class chip that boasts his Adreno A32 GPU, which is twice as fast as his first generation counterpart. Throw in a 30% faster 8-core Kryo CPU and you’ve got mobile technology powerful enough to support real-time ray tracing.

AYANEO Pocket S is a sleek handheld with a 6-inch 1440p screen, a borderless mirror glass finish, and an ultra-thin body measuring only 14mm. The specs are impressive, with a pixel density of 490PPI, 100% sRGB coverage, and 100% peak brightness. 400 nits. There will also be a “standard” model with a 6-inch 2K display.

Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 is backed by up to 16 GB of memory and up to 1 TB of onboard storage. The good news for handheld gamers is that the Pocket S is designed to take full advantage of the GPU’s 1GHz boost clock speed to deliver 15W of sustained performance.

In addition to Performance Boost Mode, AYANEO Pocket S has Balanced Gaming Mode and Long Battery Life Gaming Mode, which focuses on battery life.

The Pocket S looks like a high-end smartphone, although it features an RGB Hall-sensing joystick, Hall triggers, and face buttons as part of its build. The handheld also incorporates haptic feedback and high-end vibrations, something you don’t usually find on Android smartphones.

AYANEO also says that the Pocket S’s cooling exceeds “traditional smartphones in terms of heat dissipation,” thanks to an active cooling system, thermal plates, and “fishbone” biomimetic design.
