Assistant’s “Stop” command removes all Google Clock alarms

In a pretty egregious oversight, a single Google Assistant command can remove all alarms on Google Clock for Android.

As highlighted in artem rusakovskytell Google Assistant to “Stop/Turn Off Alarm.”s” or similar expressions will remove all Google Clock alarms. The assistant responds with “No problem, everything has been cancelled.” (Different from the “stop/snooze” quick phrase.)

Reports of this behavior date back to December 2016, or shortly after the launch of Google Assistant on Pixel/Android.

If the Clock app is the first tab open when you issue this command, you will see the deletions in real time. This includes current/active times, including bedtime and wake-up times, and off/grayed times.

If you say “turn off/stop the alarm” (instead of “alarm”)s“), Google Assistant will ask you which one you are referring to. However, the action is to remove the alarm rather than toggle it off, so you may momentarily confuse “alarm” with “alarm”. It will be easier.

One would think that this command would just stop the current alarm, or worse, turn off the active alarm, but Google Assistant goes beyond that and deletes the entire list without any additional confirmation.
