miami – Miami-Dade police announced Friday that they have arrested a man suspected of killing a northwest Miami-Dade business owner.

Police have identified the suspect in the murder of German Amado de la Cruz Jr. (48) as Joseph Fulwood (46).

Miami-Dade police said he was shot inside a personal watercraft repair shop that his family had owned for seven years. He was taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

on thursday, CBS News Miami’s Peter Doench Ariana de la Cruz, 12, asked her grandfather’s permission to talk about her father.

Miami-Dade police said he was shot inside a personal watercraft repair shop that his family had owned for seven years. He was taken to the hospital, but his life could not be saved.

It happened at the business located at 3570 NW 50th St.

Her daughter said, “My dad was very important to me. He was always there for me. He fixed my jet ski, he was my handyman. I started crying. I started crying a lot. “But I have to do my best for my mother.” . ”

“My father was a very sweet and kind man. He always helped those around him. When I needed a friend, he gave me shelter,” she said.

“He was a really happy person. I don’t know what happened. What I’m wondering is, he was a very good person, so why did they “We don’t know who killed him,” he said. He has two children, a girlfriend and another son. ”

Perdomo said he has seen surveillance video of the business, which police now have.

“This guy should be in jail because he came at me like this and pow-powed with a gun. That’s what I saw on the video,” he said. “That guy came in and was like Pow.”

“He was caught off guard and when he turned around, the man shot him,” Ariana Delacruz said.

A friend of the victim who works with the family at a nearby business believes the victim knew who shot him.

A friend, who did not want to give his face or name, said: “The gentleman spent all day here Tuesday, arrived here yesterday Wednesday around 10 o’clock and left after committing the crime.”

The victim’s daughter also said, “A lot of people here knew this man. He walked here every day.”

Miami-Dade police could not say whether the victim knew the shooter.

Anyone with helpful information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-tips (8477).
