GREENBRIER, Ark. — An Arkansas disc golf course has been ranked as the sixth best course in the entire world by UDisc, an app that helps people discover and share the best disc golf courses.
The UDisc team has been announcing what it considers to be the best courses around the world this month, and on February 15th, it was revealed that The Greenbrier’s Persimmon Ridge Disc Golf Course ranked No. 6 on the 2024 list.
The course was opened in 2018 by the Jones family and has been ranked as the best disc golf course in Arkansas since 2020.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the disc golfers who have rated us on UDisc for this prestigious recognition,” said Kim Jones. “We are committed to keeping Persimmon Ridge a haven that you will always be excited to return to, regardless of your disc golf experience level.”
Jones said he wants to welcome both “new and familiar people” who come to “experience the magic” of the resort and disc golf course.
Their course was put on the map in 2020 by professional disc golfer Luke Humphries and other experts who visited the location for the event. From there, the course developed a mixture of landscapes and created a “destination” feel. It eventually evolved into creating courses that appeal to beginners and experts alike.
Persimmon Ridge will host the 6th Annual Persimmon Ridge Retreat, scheduled to take place the weekend before a total solar eclipse passes over Arkansas. Additionally, an event will be held on the day of the solar eclipse in conjunction with the “Eclipse Disc Golf Fest.”
