Apple is preparing an amazing new iPhone upgrade that could be coming any moment. Just two weeks after the release of iOS 17.3, MacRumors has discovered that Apple is testing a new software version, iOS 17.3.1.
With a month left until the release of iOS 17.4, iPhone makers are likely using iOS 17.3.1 to iron out bugs and security issues.
The last upgrade to arrive between major iPhone updates was iOS 17.2.1, but its exact contents remain a mystery.
But before that, iOS 17.1.2 arrived with an emergency update that fixed security issues that were already being used in real-world attacks. For this reason, iOS 17.3.1 is an upgrade worth paying attention to and applying it as soon as possible.
What’s in the iOS 17.3.1 update?
Apple hasn’t revealed anything about what’s in iOS 17.3.1, but it’s safe to assume that the iPhone update will include bug fixes and security fixes. Right now, it’s more important than ever to keep your iPhone safe.
Apple’s popular devices are vulnerable to multiple security threats, including spyware that sneaks onto your iPhone without your knowledge via iMessage. These so-called “zero-click” attacks are usually very targeted, but Apple is very good at staying ahead of them.
The iOS 17.3.1 update may also include fixes for iPhone bugs present in iOS 17.3. I personally haven’t had any issues with the latest software updates, but some people have had issues with battery drain, so keep an eye on this column.
When will iOS 17.3.1 arrive?
Apple’s iOS 17.3.1 update is expected to arrive soon, likely within the next week. Updates on Mondays are not uncommon these days, so it could be on February 12th, February 13th, or February 14th. There is also a slight possibility that it will be released this week.
