If Apple follows the pattern it has created for itself over the past few years, it’s a safe bet that it will announce new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro devices later this year, possibly in September. We’ve been seeing various leaks about new devices for a while, some of which debuted just last year when the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 Pro were announced. Now, as we approach less than six months from the new iPhone’s announcement, we’re getting more leaks about the iPhone’s bezels.
The report, provided by The Elec, claims that Apple’s new iPhones will utilize Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology and that display supplier LG DIsplay is working on making it a reality. The report mentions the iPhone 16, but it’s unclear whether it also applies to the iPhone 16 Pro model. Considering the fact that previous leaks have suggested a modest increase in display size for the Pro model, it seems likely that it will benefit from this BRS technology.

This new technology works by changing the way display electronics are arranged to reduce the space required. This means the display can be moved closer to the edge of the smartphone, resulting in smaller bezels.
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16 Pro Max, along with the Apple Watch X and refreshed Apple Watch Ultra models, in September this year. The new iPhones are expected to have upgraded chips and tweaked cameras, but the overall design will be similar to current models, apart from the addition of a new capture button for taking photos and videos. I plan to stay there.
