Apple iPhone 16 design is unexpected, upgrades welcome, says report

Apple’s next iPhone is several months away, and it’s almost certain to arrive in September, as usual. This means that if the hardware is not yet fixed, it is in the final stages of development. A new report suggests that two of the new phones, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, will have updated designs that look oddly familiar, and offer some surprising bonuses.

Camera placement.

The latest proposal comes from a regular leaker Majinbu, backed by MacRumors. In this photo, the iPhone’s camera is positioned vertically instead of diagonally, similar to the iPhone 12 and iPhone X. But it doesn’t seem like Apple is wallowing in nostalgia.

First of all, there may be strong practical reasons behind this change. The diagonal position of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus allowed for a larger lens to be housed in a similarly sized square camera panel, while the vertical shape means that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus have features exclusive to the current series’ Pro models. It could mean that it can be installed. .

iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max can use two lenses at the same time to capture spatial video. Importantly, these lenses are aligned in a straight line rather than at an angle.

The regular iPhone this fall is expected to be capable of capturing spatial video, which is made possible in part by the vertical placement of the lens.

And there is another advantage. His two cameras featured in Majin Bu’s post don’t seem to stick out as much as the iPhone 15.

If you’ve ever been tired of having your iPhone rest at an awkward angle when you put it on a flat surface, you may notice that it can wobble under your fingers, especially if you’re typing with the phone on a table. If so, lowering the bump can help. .

True, it’s not a big problem. If you have a case on your iPhone, you won’t have to worry about it, as it will even out the problem nicely. But it’s good to know that things are a little different this year.

Add this to the list of impressive updates coming this fall. It’s already rumored that some models will come with different displays, more smartphones will come with tetraprism cameras, more advanced camera lenses, and a key benefit: improved battery life.

And it’s only February.
